Recharge – The Radical Power of Rest
Oct 25, 2024"Rest is a form of resistance because it disrupts and pushes back against capitalism and white supremacy." — Tricia Hersey (The Nap Bishop)
When was the last time you truly rested? I’m not talking about zoning out on Netflix or grabbing a few hours of sleep between endless tasks. I mean the kind of rest that restores your spirit, recharges your creativity, and lets you reconnect with yourself.
Here’s where the third Intentional Principle, Recharge, comes in. We live in a culture that glorifies constant motion, but here’s the thing—rest isn’t just an escape. It’s a power move. In fact, studies have shown that strategic rest can enhance creativity by up to 60%.
What if rest wasn’t a luxury, but a necessity?
This week, I want you to carve out intentional time to rest. It could be an hour of meditation, a walk in nature, or simply time spent in quiet reflection. Give yourself permission to disconnect so you can reconnect with what truly matters.
Challenge: Plan a dedicated “Recharge Day” this week. Even if it’s just for a few hours, make it non-negotiable.
Your Possibility: When you embrace rest as part of your creative cycle, new ideas, energy, and insights will follow.
Want to go further? I’m offering 1-on-1 coaching slots soon to help you master the art of strategic rest.
Rest intentionally,
Talib
